FJ's Friday Feature: Natalie Griffiths

The FJ Friday Feature Blog gives a chance for our candidates and clients to get to know our #fjfamily better. This week's FJ Friday Feature speaks with our Marketing Intern at Finlay James and Talentskowt Natalie Griffiths. Nat has been on her internship with us since August 2020 and is based in our Didsbury office.

1. What initially got you into marketing?

I study business management and marketing in university, so I have two years of knowledge in marketing so far. In Lockdown 1.0 I started my own little business selling resistance bands for people to do exercises and gym workouts but from home, and so I had to do my own marketing, but I really enjoyed and picked up quite quickly. I would say that starting my own little business, set me up well to do the marketing internship for Finlay James and Talentskowt.

2. What are your favourite things about working at Finlay James and Talentskowt?

I know it sounds cheesy, but the best thing about working at FJ and Talentskowt is genuinely the people! The fact that John our CEO and Sara our COO had enough faith in me to work for them during a pandemic was honestly a blessing!!!! I could NOT have asked for more supportive managers and colleagues, which gives me so much more confidence in myself and my work.

3. What goals do you have for the next 5 years?

I would like to graduate next year with a 1st (fingers crossed) and keep up my marketing here at FJ and TS! I would also love to push my own little business, using my knowledge from my internship, and put it into my own business as well. I have honestly learnt so much in the past 8 months of working at FJ and it will be so useful to put not only towards my degree but also to everything I do.

Personally, I would love to travel. After the pandemic, and not being able to travel freely, I really just don't want to take anything for granted (not that I did), but in terms of just being more spontaneous and travelling Europe and Australia.

4. What do you recommend to someone who is just starting up in marketing?

Do as many online courses as you can, I recommend Hubspot, they are a really useful online service which has loadsss of courses and videos to help you with new ideas.

5. Describe your perfect, non-work day.

My perfect non-work day would be to see my friends and go for a walk which we end up at the pub and have a few pints. I have really missed going out seeing my friends from home and hopefully will be able to see them soon, just in time for my 21st birthday in June!
