The FJ Friday Feature Blog gives a chance for our candidates and clients to get to know our #fjfamily better. This week's FJ Friday Feature speaks with our Managing Consultant at Finlay James and Talentskowt Daniel Maguire. Dan is based in our Didsbury office.
1. What initially got you into recruitment?
I wanted a role that rewarded hard work and effort after working in a corporate environment previously, also after 18 months travelling I was in dire need of something financially rewarding.
2. What are your favourite things about working at Finlay James?
The opportunities for progression, the chance to implement your own ideas, and the people.
3. What goals do you have for the next 5 years?
I’m aiming to buy my first investment property this year, with a view of purchasing 3 within 3 years’ time. Also after the last 18 months my main goal is to spend as much time on a beach as possible.
4. What do you recommend to someone who is just starting up in recruitment?
That you need to throw yourself at it! Make as many calls and mistakes as possible early on!
5. Describe your perfect, non-work day.
Toss up between an early round of golf followed by day drinking in Liverpool, or the much more sensible option of a hike in the Peak District.
